Q: What is Mobile Deposit?
A: Mobile Deposit allows submission of a check to the bank for deposit by utilizing your smart phone or tablet's camera.
Q: How do I enroll in Mobile Deposit?
A: To enroll in Mobile Deposit, you'll need to log into your mobile banking using our mobile app. You will need to click on the "Check Deposit" icon. This will submit an enrollment application. Once the application is approved, you will receive an email from the bank.
Q: How do I use Mobile Deposit
A: To use Mobile Deposit, you will need to take a clear picture through our mobile app of the front of the check and the back of the check. It is important that all four corners of the check be visible and all information on the check is clear. Once you submit the check images, you will be notified upon acceptance.
Q: Do I need to sign the check?
A: Yes, the check will need to be endorsed by all payees. If an endorsement is missing, the check may be declined.
Q: Are any additional endorsements required, besides my signature?
A: Yes, the check should be endorsed as "Your Signature, For Mobile Deposit The Hometown Savings Bank."
Q: Are there limits to how much I can deposit with Mobile Deposit?
A: Yes, Mobile Deposit does have limits on the dollar amount of the check. Please contact The Hometown Savings Bank to better understand Mobile Deposit Limits.
Q: What are the cut off times for Mobile Deposit?
A: Any check received after 4pm ET on a business day will be reviewed the following business day. In some cases, the bank may amend this cut off time due to closing early for a holiday or inclement weather.
Q: Can I deposit a check made payable to a third party, such as a dependent?
A: No, checks should only be submitted made payable to you or another signer on the account of its intended deposit. Third party checks are not accepted on Mobile Deposit.
Q: Can someone deposit a check for me using my Mobile Deposit?
A: No, check submissions by a third party to your account are not accepted. Any check submitted should be submitted by you.
Q: My check has been approved, when will I see the funds in my account?
A: Funds from checks that have been accepted for deposit will be available the following business day.
Q: Will I receive a notice on the status of my check?
A: If your check is accepted for deposit, you will be able to view the status within our Mobile Banking App and may receive an email once it has been accepted. If we deny the a check, you will receive a notice to the email address on file with the reason for the denial.
